Jenelle Evans went from tears to cheers on this week’s Teen Mom 2. Although the episode kicked off with Jenelle breaking down over her mother refusing to let her see her son Jace, she was able to leave the drama at home when she flew to St. Thomas and accepted a proposal (and a stunning engagement ring!) from boyfriend Nathan Griffith. From how he popped the question to the results of Leah Messer’s drug test, click through to get all the details on this week’s episode!
Although love was in the air for Jenelle and Nathan, the same couldn’t be said for the other couples. Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin got into an explosive fight on last week’s episode over text messages Javi found on his wife’s phone. On her way to a concert with friends, Kail expressed that the fight could put them on the brink of divorce. “This is physically and emotionally draining,” she said. “I would never in a million years want my kids to be in a relationship like this. This is toxic. We know what’s coming. I know he feels it too.”
But Javi wasn’t ready to throw in the towel, as he drove to Philadelphia to meet his wife after the concert. “I am sorry for making you cry number one and I’m sorry for ruining your time and your friends time and we’re here to reconcile and have a good time,” he said, as she accepted his apology.
They then made an attempt to resolve their issues the next day instead of ignoring them. “I can’t continue to fight the way we fight,” she said. When Javi explained that she used to actually want to hang out with him, she replied that she doesn’t want to be around him if they’re constantly arguing. “If we don’t hang out, I don’t get what I need so when you go out that’s what makes me mad,” Javi said. In the end, the duo agreed to continue couples counseling and take a trip together without their cell phones!
Later on in the episode, Chelsea met up with Adam’s other baby mama Taylor to team up and fight Adam’s filing of joint custody together. When they met with the lawyer, he explained that Adam’s criminal record is 27 pages. Yikes! Between that and the fact that he goes against supervised visits and takes Aubree without his parents around, her lawyer agreed to push for visits at a family visitation center.
Despite Leah and Jeremy Calvert’s unfortunate divorce, they were on good terms this week. She even confided in him the stress her ex-husband Corey Simms is putting her through by suggesting he keeps the girls every other week and by forcing her to take a drug test. “I feel like Corey wants to do what’s best for the girls, but the next minute you’re forcing me to take a hair follicle drug test where they take chunks out of my hair,” she said.
When it was time for Leah to receive her drug test, her lawyer told her that she passed! Continuing to shoot down drug allegations, Leah explained that she’s on prescription pain medication for her headaches and anti-anxiety pills.
Jenelle continued her fight with Barbara from last week’s episode over her mother never being able to see Kaiser. After discovering that Nathan’s mother was asked to watch the baby during the couple’s St. Thomas vacation, she refused to let her see her other son Jace before she left. “I’ll keep blowing up her phone I don’t care,” Jenelle said. “Why won’t she let me talk to me son? What did I do?” When Nathan said that Babs is using Jace to “control” Jenelle, she cried, “I just want to see Jace. Why can’t I see my son?”
Although Jenelle never saw Jace before her trip, she managed to put her worries to the side for the relaxing getaway! After a day of soaking up the sun, Nathan took Jenelle out to dinner with his family. Hitting his knife against his glass, he got the entire restaurant’s attention as he screamed, “Tonight is a wonderful night. I’m with the most amazing girl in my entire life… I just want to let this girl know how much she means to me. Jenelle Evans, will you marry me?" As TM2 fans know, she accepted, but not before saying, “I didn’t think you were ever going to do it.” Neither did we!
