Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino celebrated his release from prison in a delicious way. The Jersey Shore: Family Vacation star has been spending time with his family and friends since his release on September 12, along with plenty of food.
On September 16, Mike, 37, shared a bountiful picture on Instagram of him and wife Lauren surrounded by food. Among the colorful spread was salad, cold cuts, cheese, vegetables, chicken cutlets, pasta, and much more. “Feast mode,” Mike captioned the picture. His wife chimed in,"feast mode with a side of the gun show.”
Lauren, 34, referred to The Situation’s new physique, which featured a toned cored and seriously jacked arms, which he debuted on September 12. He was released from the Otisville Federal Correctional Institution in upstate New York after he served eight months behind bars and left jail with buff biceps. The maximum sentence he could have received was five years.
In October 2018, Mike pleaded guilty to tax evasion from 2014 to 2017 on income that exceeded $9 million. He was sentenced the jail time, along with two years of supervised probation for fraud and 500 hours of community service. His sentence began on January 15.

Upon Mike's release, he and his wife released a statement that expressed their gratitude to those who helped them through the difficult period. “We are elated to finally close this chapter of our life. Thank you to our family, friends and fans for the continuous love and support during this time, it brought us so much peace and comfort," it read.
The statement continued, “We look forward to continuing our life as husband and wife and working on baby situations! We truly believe that the comeback is ALWAYS greater than the setback and we can’t wait to show the world ours.”
The copious feast Mike had to celebrate his release comes as no surprise. His Jersey Shore costar Pauly “DJ Pauly D” DelVecchio told PEOPLE Now in July that one of the first orders of business upon his release was “to eat” and “do a fast food tour.”
