False Alarm! Jill Duggar Is Not In Labor Just Yet — Why She’s Having Contractions Explained

Derick Dillard spoke too soon! Jill Duggar may have having contractions but the 19 Kids And Counting star isn’t in labor just yet! Click through to find out what she’s up to while she waits for “baby Dilly!”

On April 3, her husband wrote on the family blog that Jill was starting to have contractions and that the birth of their son was “near.” What an overeager dad!

However, Jill corrected her hubby on Instagram, writing that her contractions were just stage one, which are called Braxton Hicks.

“Out to lunch...maybe this spicy Mexican food will make the baby come! Only Braxton Hicks contractions with this weather so far. We shall see what the weekend brings! #nobabyyet #lunchwithmyhubby,” she wrote.

In a blog post, Derick wrote about his excitement—and fear!—of becoming a dad for the first time.

"I can’t even describe right now the anticipation I am feeling, as I am about to get to meet my firstborn son for the first time face to face," he wrote. "So many people have already testified that nothing can quite describe that moment and that I’ll just have to experience it for myself."

He went on to say that since Jill is a student midwife, he knows she will have sporadic labor pains leading up to the birth of their son.

“It’s important to remember that we don’t know when he will be born, but we can definitely see the evidence that points to his imminent arrival, whenever that might be,” he wrote. “As much as Jill and I want to know when this birth will happen, the day and the hour of baby dilly’s birth is definitely unknown."

As for Jill, she’s been waiting patiently since her due date passed almost two weeks ago, sharing a photo doing work on her computer.
