John Cena and Nikki Bella devastated their WWE fans when they shared over the weekend that they are no longer getting married. Now, it's been exposed that they reason they broke up is allegedly because they couldn't agree about starting a family. It's no secret that John had no interest in having a child, as he's talked about it both in interviews and on Total Divas.
He and Nikki spoke a number of times over the years about children, with Nikki saying on Total Divas back in 2013, “I do want to be a mom. I feel like I’d be missing out.” And John, 40, was very honest with her, and said, “I’m going to choose my words carefully. I can’t give you that.”
Still, Nikki stayed in the relationship, though even in 2014, John again was open with her about not wanting to start a family. “I’ve told you I don’t want to get married and I don’t want to have kids, and you do want to get married and you do want to have kids. I feel like there’s a time bomb over my head.”
He changed his stance on marriage, or so it seemed, by proposing last year at Wrestlemania 33 in front of thousands of fans. The two were set to wed May 5, but over the weekend they announced their split.

“While this decision was a difficult one, we continue to have a great deal of love and respect for one another. We ask that you respect our privacy during this time in our lives," Nikki said.
Afterwards, John shared this quote, "Hardship, loss, and humility are extremely difficult waters to navigate, but perseverance thru them builds a strength to withstand anything life throws your way,"
