It’s been barely three months since Joy-Anna Duggar and Austin Forsyth tied the knot and already people are accusing the couple of having some major marital issues.
Fans were up in arms after Joy and Austin shared this pic on their joint Instagram page. Many questioned Joy’s outfit “choice” and her husband’s role in their relationship.
“Austin won't allow her to wear pants,” one fan claimed.
Joy’s admitted in the past that she prefers not to wear dresses but does it because her hubby likes them. “I said before that I don't like dresses, but Austin likes them on me," she said on an episode of Counting On. “And so, I'm branching out, and I'm wearing some dresses now. I don't really have fashion. I just kind of wear whatever Austin likes.”
And when it comes to Joy’s accommodating nature, another Instagram user pointed out the dissimilarity between Joy and her older sister Jinger’s marriages and claimed that Duggar patriarch Jim Bob chooses “controlling” partners for his daughters.

“Jim Bob picks domineering men to marry his daughters. I'm glad Jinger got to marry Jeremy Vuolo and got the hell out of Arkansas and away from her control freak of a parent,” a fan wrote, seemingly referring to Jinger stepping away from her family’s conservative dress code (which only permits girls to wear skirts/dresses). Jinger's been spotted in shorts and pants since tying the knot. “Austin seems just as big of a control freak as Jim Bob is.”
Another fan even brought up the couple’s joint Instagram account and how it was a way Austin controls Joy.
“Let her have her own Instagram. Or vice versa,” they wrote. “If there's no trust then you shouldn't be married! Also why does she have to wear skirts?? She has said she doesn't like them but you do. Don't be controlling.”
