Duggar Baby Boom! Joy-Anna, Jinger and Kendra Reveal Family’s Best Parenting Advice

There’s nothing quite like parenting advice from a family that raised (and is still raising) 19 kids. #ParentingPros In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Joy-Anna, Jinger, and Kendra Duggar opened up about how they’ve been preparing for motherhood, their expectations, and the advice they’ve received from their ever-growing family.
Joy-Anna, who gave birth to her son, Gideon, in February, told the mag, “During my pregnancy, I was always open to advice and ways I could prepare myself for the birth and just being a new mom…Some of the best advice I received is just to rest before the baby gets here because once the baby is here, you’re not going to get rest for a while until he’s on a schedule.”
The first-time mom, who became the third Duggar sister to continue the all-boy streak, welcoming the eighth Duggar grandson, said she went to her sisters Jill and Jessa to get tips about raising a boy. “I’ve seen their consistency and diligence and I can apply those things to my life and into my parenting,” she said.
Jinger, who recently announced that she is 22 weeks into her pregnancy, dished on life as an expecting mom and gave advice to those also expecting. “If you need to take a nap or lay down in the middle of the day, don’t feel bad,” she said. The soon-to-be mom also said, like Joy, she got advice from her sisters, but her questions were more about how to get through morning sickness.

Kendra revealed she was expecting in December, just three months after tying the knot with Joseph Duggar. And just like Joe, she too comes from a large family; she has six brothers and sisters that she’s leaned on for support. While a Duggar by marriage, the 19-year-old told Us that being able to go through her pregnancy with her sisters-in-law, Joy-Anna and Jinger, has been quite the journey.
“It’s been a really unique experience in that we’re getting to share all of the different changes that our bodies are going through and can talk about them and encourage each other,” she said. “It’s definitely been nice.”
