During part one of Kandi’s Ski Trip, Kandi Burruss’ mother, Mama Joyce, aunts and cousin accused her of neglecting her family after her wedding to Todd Tucker. But in her latest Bravo blog about her The Real Housewives of Atlanta spinoff show, Burrus knocked her family members’ claims that she abandoned them.
In the post, Burruss expressed her shock over learning her family’s feelings about her as they vacationed at a ski resort in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. However, she also explained that their negative attitude toward her hubby did affect how often she would come around her family following her wedding to Tucker.
“I couldn't believe they were saying that I had changed since I got married. Well, let me take that back. Doesn't everyone change a little when they first get married?” Burruss said. “I stopped coming to every event, because in the beginning of my relationship they were being mean to Todd. He didn't feel comfortable coming. So I would come most of the time, but I just wouldn't stay that long.”
The premiere of Kandi’s Ski Trip was full of drama, with Burruss' aunts getting upset over their rooms at the resort and Burruss and Tucker attempting to mesh their families together.

But even when speaking to OKMagazine.com ahead of the show’s debut, Burruss admitted that her aunts accusing her of acting differently was one of the more hurtful moments of the trip. “I found out they had been feeling a certain kind of way since I got married. They felt like I changed, and it was just a whole lot that came up that I didn’t even know was going on,” Burruss said.

Viewers had a mixed reaction to Burruss’ confrontation with her family members, with some supporting Burruss and others siding with the reality star’s aunts and mother. However, Burruss admitted to OKMagazine.com that she has love for her family despite the drama, and they get upset and make up just like any other family.
“It was just a thing, after a thing, after a thing! But just like in my everyday life with my family, even when ya’ll aren’t around us like that, we always get over it,” Burruss said about their trip for her new show.
