And the surprises keep on coming; Kanye West is going to Hollywood!
This weekend Yeezy auditioned – yes you heard that right “auditioned” – for the 15th and final season of American Idol. The Chicago rapper took his talents before judges Keith Urban, Harry Connick Jr. and Jennifer Lopez as the show held auditions in San Francisco, California.
Kanye wasn’t the only one in on the surprise as he brought along his very pregnant wife, Kim Kardashian, who watched her hubby’s surprise audition from TV monitors outside the judges’ room.
No surprise the rapper received his golden ticket after rapping his classic “Gold Digger,” with Idol judge, J.Lo, even getting in on the fun by singing along to his infamous line, “my psychic told me she’ll have a a** like Serena Trina, Jennifer Lopez, four kids…”

After putting on a show in the judges’ room Dr. West then ran out to his adoring wife, and an excited Ryan Seacrest, triumphantly raising his golden ticket into the air.

Both Kim and Ryan posted the surprise audition on instagram with Ryan captioning his insta photo, "Look who's going to Hollywood! #IdolAuditions #kanyewest.”
The West family was in San Fran for the Democratic National Committee fundraiser for President Barack Obama. While West’s 2020 presidential bid seems to be in full swing – with POTUS even giving the rapper tips during his DNC speech – Yeezy was in attendance as the headlining performer for the committee’s fundraiser.
Be on the look out for Kanye’s Idol audition as the final season of American Idol airs in January.
