Kanye West Surprises Howard University Students With Special Sunday Service
Kanye West is taking his coveted Sunday Service to Washington D.C. The rapper surprised students at Howard University with a Sunday Service on Saturday, October 12, during their homecoming event.
Crowds flocked at 8 a.m. on the Howard quad for the legendary performance. Kanye, 42, sported a tan coat and a gray sweatshirt for the event.
The "Jesus Walks" crooner sung new verses during the gospel service. R&B singer Tony Williams was also in attendance and conducted a mass of choir singers, drummers and a brass band.
Kanye's wife Kim Kardashian and two of their four kids North and Saint, were also in attendance. Halim Steward and Momolu Stewart, two D.C. natives who were convicted of murder when they were teens, also took the stage to tell their stories. Kim was interested in their Momolu's case and wrote a letter in support of his release following two decades of jail.
Kim tweeted a pic of her kids getting ready for the coveted Sunday Service.

The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, 38, appeared in Washington D.C. just days after her spiritual trip to Armenia. Kim was baptized along with her kids in her native country and shared her experiences on Instagram.
"Thank you Armenia for such a memorable trip. So blessed to have been baptized along with my babies at Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, Armenia's main cathedral which is sometimes referred to as the Vatican of the Armenian Apostolic Church. This church was built in 303 AD," the KKW Beauty founder wrote alongside one pic of her family. Kanye did not join his family for the vacation but Kim's sister Kourtney tagged along for the ride.
Kim and Saint, 3, daughter Chicago, 20 months, and son Psalm, 5 months, were baptized during the ceremony. North, 6, was previously baptized in 2015 at the Cathedral of St. James in the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem. Also during their trip, Kim and Kourtney had dinner with Armenian president Armen Sarkissian.
