Kate Hudson Reveals Why She And Matt Bellamy Split—'We Chose To Move On'

Kate Hudson is a pretty private actress, but she recently revealed why she and Muse frontman Matt Bellamy ended their engagement, and it turns out the two didn’t exactly see eye to eye!

While they began dating in 2010 and got engaged one year later, their romance wasn’t meant to be, as they later split in December 2014. Not the best way to ring in the new year.

In a new interview with Allure magazine, Kate discusses the breakup, admitting, “Relationships ending are painful, and you can choose to carry that or you can choose to reframe it. If Matt and I had a great relationship, we would still be together, but we chose to move on because we had different visions of how we wanted to live our lives.”

Could it be that Matt wanted to get married and Kate didn’t? Kate recently noted that she wasn’t in a rush to marry her fiancé of three years.

"I just don't have—I'm happy. We're married. We've got kids and a family and we've got to find our time together alone," the 35-year-old said while on The View when she will tie the knot. "We are in it. I think if we do get married it will be for the kids, really. For us, we're just happy," she said last July.
