Katy Perry Considers Herself To Be A ‘Bridechilla’ Amid Wedding Planning With Fiancé Orlando Bloom
Katy Perry is taking a more relaxed approach when it comes to her wedding plans. The “Firework” singer, 35 opened up about her engagement to Orlando Bloom in a new interview and admitted that she called herself a “bridechilla as opposed to a bridezilla” when it came to planning for her big day.
“Orlando and I are united with our approach,” Katy revealed to Stella Magazine. “It’s not about the party it’s about the coming together of people who will hold us accountable when things get really hard. Those are just the facts when you’re with someone who challenges you to be your best self.”
A source close to the pair told People that Katy and Orlando,43, were staying “secretive” about their wedding day but both wanted to tie the know in a “smaller and intimate” wedding.
During an interview with Capital Breakfast with Roman Kemp, Katy reflected on the proposal saying, “I just remember meeting him at dinner at this place, this Italian restaurant, because when I get a pass, I just want to stuff my face with pasta. So I get there and, I mean, he’s like clean-shaven. He’s not wearing tennis shoes. I’m like, ‘Ah s**t, something is going down! We were ordering everything and I was like, ‘Who is this person?!’”

She continued, “I got on a helicopter and he asked me to marry him, and then we landed on this building and then went downstairs, and my family and friends were there and the most flowers you’ve ever seen.”
The American Idol judge and the Lord of the Rings actor dated on-and-off since 2016. The pair were initially spotted getting cozy at a Golden Globes afterparty in January 2016.
In May 2016, the “I Think I’m Ready” singer made their relationship Instagram official with a photo of the pair lounging in robes on the steps of a building in Cannes.
The two split in February 2017 with their reps releasing a joint statement stating that they needed time apart. They rekindled their romance just a few months later and on Valentine’s day in 2019, Katy and Orlando announced that they were engaged.
