Kerry Washington And Nnamdi Asomugha In 'Couples Therapy,' Ex-Footballer ‘Threatened By Actress’ Career

Kerry Washington and her husband Nnamdi Asomugha, have been married for almost two years. But a source speaking to RadarOnline.com has revealed the couple’s relationship has hit a serious snag.

Washington and Asomugha were married in a secret wedding ceremony in June 2013. They have been extremely protective of their relationship since they started dating. And even though they've tied the knot, they still are rarely spotted in public together and hardly ever share details about their life as a married couple.

All appears well when the Scandal actress and ex-footballer do go on a public outings together. But a source close to the two -- who welcomed their daughter, Isabelle Amarachi, in April 2014 -- says that tension is quickly growing between the couple.

“The root of the problem is that Nnamdi feels threatened by Kerry’s success,” the insider said.

The insider added that Asomugha, who announced his retirement from the NFL in December 2013, is “bitter because he feels he should be the breadwinner.”

But the source said that Washington is acting now to make sure she and her husband work out any possible marriage troubles that could damage their relationship.
