Kris Jenner is always on the hunt for powerful celebrity friends to add to her Kardashian Kabinet and she’s chosen a new A-lister to court friendship with: Amal Alamuddin Clooney!

A family insider told OKmagazine.com exclusively that Kris decided she wants to be the new Mrs. George Clooney’s best friend because Amal is currently in Strasbourg at the European Court for Human Rights arguing in a human rights case for Armenia.

“Kris thinks her family’s Armenian heritage will pull weight with Amal now and is calling every mutual friend of George’s that she knows to arrange an introduction when the couple are back in LA,” the source revealed.

According to OK!’s source, Kris is “determined to make this happen” because she “thinks adding the Clooney's to her inner circle will catapult them all into a major power playing field.”

“Unfortunately for Kris, her Clooney pals doubt very much George and Amal will be interested in meeting her, let alone doing business with her,” the source said.

Amal is representing the government of Armenia for the case of Turkish politician Dogu Perincek versus Switzerland. Perincek was convicted in Switzerland for challenging the truth of the 1915 Armenian genocide. Amal is arguing on behalf of Armenia that denying the genocide should be a crime, just like denying the Holocaust is a crime in many European countries.

While Kris is not Armenian herself, she was married to the late Robert Kardashian, who was of Armenian descent, from 1978 to 1991. Her very famous American children—Kourtney, Kim, Khloe and Rob—frequently tout their Armenian heritage.
