Lance Bass is set to officiate Vanderpump Rules stars Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright's upcoming wedding, E! News reported on Friday, June 21. Lisa Vanderpump was allegedly going to officiate, but the couple had to make other arrangements when they learned the restauranteur wouldn't be able to make it to their nuptials in the wake of her mother's sudden death.
Lance, 40, is close friends with Lisa, 58, and happily took over the role for his friend so that she could fly back to London and help arrange her mom's funeral.
"Lance Bass was asked to officiate the wedding due to Lisa having to fly back to the UK to deal with her family matters. Lisa has told Jax and Brittany that it's unlikely she will attend their wedding and arranged for Lance to fulfill the duties," a source told the outlet.
Jax, 39, and Brittany, 30, feel "really fortunate and excited" to have Lance step in since the decision was so "last minute."

The couple are set to tie the knot at The Kentucky Castle in Versailles, Kentucky, on June 29.
The SUR boss was going to be the guest of honor, but sadly her mom Jean passed away at age 84 on Monday, June 17.
VPR cameras will be rolling on the big day and their castmates will be in attendance. Katie Maloney-Schwartz, Kristen Doute, Ariana Madix, Stassi Schroeder, Sheana Shay, and Lala Kent are all bridesmaids.
