Luke Bryan and his wife Caroline had to say goodbye to the pet they adopted less than two weeks ago. The country crooner's wife shared the news on Instagram. Keep reading for more details.

Caroline, 39, made a sweet post honoring the 4-legged family member they brought home on February 9.

"'If the kindest souls were rewarded with the longest lives, dogs would outlive us all.' My heart is so sad but full to post this...our sweet Prince Pooch has passed away," she wrote.

"He lived 18 years and was loved by so many people," she continued.

The mom of two also revealed how much the couple's kids, 10 year old Thomas and 8 year old Tatum, would miss Poochie. "My kids especially loved to hear him snore when he slept," she shared.

"Thank you @proverbs1210animalrescue for giving our family the opportunity to love this sweet dog. And thank you to @abbysmyers @nicolebobek@erin_creighton_ @framigosperfecto for your big hearts. Poochie loved you all," Caroline concluded her post.

The American Idol judge shared his happiness when Poochie became part of the family. "Loving my new buddy," he wrote on Twitter.
