Mariah Carey’s close friends are growing concerned the singer may be headed toward a breakdown after her turbulent year.
One major blow for the singer came when her husband, Nick Cannon, confirmed in August that the pair had been living in separate homes. He later filed for divorce on Dec. 12.
Along with her marriage troubles, the music legend’s latest album tanked, her weight has continued to fluctuate and both a former assistant and nanny have sued the singer for unpaid overtime. She's also had to battle claims her iconic voice is weakening after several lip synching scandals over the past year.

“She’s still devastated about losing Nick and now that she’s realizing her voice is gone too, she’s losing control,” an insider told OK!. “Those closest to her are seriously considering staging an inter-vention, before there’s a repeat of what happened in 2001 — or worse.”
