Katie Holmes’ dating life has made headlines once again. The 41-year-old actress was spotted getting cozy with Emilio Vitolo Jr. while out to dinner at Peasant Restaurant in New York City on Sunday, September 6.
According to photos obtained by the Daily Mail, the Dawson’s Creek alum wore a white T-shirt and jeans with her hair in a messy bun, while Vitolo, 33, sported a white T-shirt with a beige newsboy cap. During their date, the two couldn’t help but pack on the PDA — and Holmes even sat in his lap.
Prior to their romantic outing, Holmes and Vitolo were seen out to dinner in SoHo on September 1. And while it’s unclear how long the pair have been seeing each other, Vitolo commented on Holmes’ Instagram post from July 31.
Even though Holmes — who shares 14-year-old daughter Suri Cruise with ex Tom Cruise — may be smitten, it looks like Vitolo has just gotten out of a pretty serious relationship. In fact, the restaurateur was reportedly engaged to designer Rachel Emmons. The former flames are tagged in several photos from earlier this year, including one of them with his dog, Lil Franky.
For now, though, here are five fast facts about Holmes’ new boo. Keep scrolling through the gallery below to get the lowdown.
He’s an actor
When he’s not in the kitchen, Vitolo has appeared on the small screen in shows like Royal Pains and Inside Amy Schumer. According to his IMDB page, Vitolo is set to star in The Birthday Cake, which will be released later this year.
He’s a chef
Vitolo’s father, Emilio Vitolo Sr., bought the SoHo restaurant, Emilio’s Ballato, in the early ’90s. Since then, the Vitolo family has worked there. “It’s a seven-day-a-week commitment,” Vitolo Jr. told InStyle. “If you’re going to do a restaurant the right way, you always have to be there.”
He has lots of famous friends
He loves his dog… who has an Instagram!
Vitolo is the owner of an adorable Rottweiler puppy named Lil Franky, who also has his own Instagram account. “Nolita’s Finest Rottie,” his Instagram bio reads. The proud dog dad uploaded several snapshots of his dog hanging around New York City in addition to napping.
He’s Italian and Peruvian
Vitolo’s dad is Italian, while his mother hails from South America. In an interesting twist of events, Vitolo told InStyle that his dad was “never the cook.” Instead, it was his mother who made the family dishes, “like chicken and rice,” for dinner.
