Meghan McCain Admits She And Her Dad Got Into A Screaming Match After His Brain Surgery

Only a few days following his life-saving brain surgery, Republican Senator John McCain decided to fly to Washington D.C. to vote against President Donald Trump's attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act. But his daughter, Meghan McCain, was furious about it. She recently admitted in the HBO documentary, John McCain: For Whom the Bell Tolls, that the two go into a blow-out argument over her father's decision. Read on for more details.
John had undergone surgery to remove a blood clot from behind his eye, according to People, after being diagnosed with an aggressive brain cancer. He then proceeded to hop on a plane to get to the east coast to cast his vote to save Obamacare.
However, Meghan wanted her dad to stay home and get better. "He said, 'I have to get back for the healthcare bill' and I said, 'What could possibly happen if he gets on a plane?' and the doctor said he would like hemorrhage and it can be dangerous if he still has air in his brain, and all this crazy stuff," Meghan told filmmakers Peter, George, and Teddy Kunhardt.
"So I freaked out and I screamed at everyone that he couldn’t get on the plane and that I didn’t agree with it,” The View co-host continued. "And my dad snapped at me and said, 'It’s my life and it’s my choice.'"

Not only did John make it to cast his vote, but he ended up saving the Affordable Care Act. "I will not vote for this bill as it is today," the senator said during the historic moment. He's now still battling cancer and preparing for his funeral. He recently uninvited the president to the ceremony.
"I think the Republicans felt that he had marshaled all of his physical strength to come back after the surgery and that naturally he would vote with the Republican party,” former Democratic senator and John's friend Joe Lieberman said in the doc of John's decision to vote following surgery. "But they totally misread John. He came back for a different reason. He came back to do the right thing and to send a message to his colleagues and to the country."
