Mercedes 'MJ' Javid Reveals Her Post-Baby Weight Loss Plan 5 Months After Giving Birth — 'I’m Just Getting Started'
Mercedes "MJ" Javid may have given birth to son Shams Francis Feight five months ago, but she's still adamant on getting her body back. The Shahs of Sunset star opened up about her weight loss journey post-baby and how it's affecting her overall well-being.
The 47-year-old revealed her plans to lose about 50 pounds after birth and how she's getting healthy.
“I want to lose, like, 45 to 50 pounds, and I think I’ve lost like six or so — it might be 10,” the reality star dished to Us Weekly at the Beverly Hills Rejuvenation Center’s Eternal Beauty event to benefit the American Heart Association on September 26. “But I’m really feeling like I’m just getting started.”
One thing that works for the Bravo personality is that she found a healthy lifestyle that works for her. “I really don’t want to see it as a diet. I really want to see it as like, the foods that I’m eating give me so much more energy,” she said. “I need to keep up with the baby, so it’s like, I gotta stick to it.”

MJ has been working on her fitness after giving birth Shams and loves exercising. She explained, “I need to pick myself up and show up and move my body, because I’m really sticking to it. I’m really into the bootcamps.”
The real estate agent and her husband Tommy Feight welcomed baby Shams in April 2019. She has been open about her fertility struggles and how using IVF helped her get pregnant.
In an emotional Instagram post she shared in July, Mercedes confessed that she won't be able to have any more children. The mother of one shared a beautiful maternity shoot she shot with photographer Shannon Laurine during her pregnancy. The black and white photo had MJ lying naked on a white sheet as she covered her breasts and had her baby bump on full display. She captioned the photo, "Since I can never carry a baby again, I’m extremely grateful to those who made sure I had this shoot, and keep this memory forever. My body is still healing from pregnancy, my heart is fragile and vulnerable. I wish I had the compassion I have now, as a new mom, all of my life. But now I am learning to have a deeper appreciation about why growth in life is such an important gift. I want to be better, and stronger. Lately, most days are a challenge."
