Michelle Williams Updates Fans On Her Mental Health After Her Broken Engagement

Michelle Williams is on the mend. Over a month after her broken engagement with Chad Johnson, quitting her work obligations and going ghost on social media, the singer has provided fans with an update on her mental health.

The 38-year-old posted a selfie with the caption, “All is well...now back to my cave.” In the picture, she sported oversized sunglasses and a fiery red lipstick.

In early December 2018, Michelle announced she and Chad called off their nuptials. The two had been starring in the reality series Chad Loves Michelle, which was supposed to document their journey to the altar.

“I guess I still remain single! Things didn’t work out,” she wrote on Instagram at the time. “The healing that needs to take place is a must! I don’t wanna destroy another relationship. Blessings to him, his family and ministry.”

Days after dropping the breakup bombshell, the Destiny’s Child member pulled out of the Broadway performance of Once On This Island after only three performances. “Effective immediately, Michelle T. Williams has been advised by her medical doctors to take a leave of absence from performing,” the press release read, in part.

Michelle has been transparent about her struggles with depression and her mental health. In July 2018, she checked into a mental health clinic and upon her return home, she used Instagram to let her followers know she was in a better place.

"Depression sucks, but my faith in God and my commitment to doing the work to stay well is my way out!” she wrote in the caption. “You have to do the work even when you’re tired and feel the heaviness. Take one step at a time! Don’t overwhelm yourself.”
