Miley Cyrus posted a cryptic Instagram about "goodbyes" following her split from Kaitlynn Carter on Thursday, September 26, and it appears the singer isn't wasting any time crying over her failed romance. Miley has posted several snapshots to social media this week documenting her trip to the desert and she seems to be embracing her newly single status.
"Goodbyes are never easy... but g2g (got to go)," she captioned a photo of herself walking away from the camera in a thong bikini. "I’m more of a man than you’ll ever be, & more of a woman than you’ll ever get!" she captioned another, referencing a quote from Jonathan Larson.
Miley, 26, and Kaitlynn, 31, started casually dating following their respective splits from Liam Hemsworth and Brody Jenner in August. The two were photographed kissing while on vacation in Italy and were practically inseparable in the weeks that followed, even quietly attending the MTV Video Music Awards together on August 26.
Signs of trouble surfaced when the "Wrecking Ball" songstress headed to Las Vegas on Saturday, September 21 to perform at the iHeartRadio Music Festival and Kaitlynn didn't tag along. According to reports, Miley was the one who pulled the plug on their relationship because she felt she needed time some time to decompress after her failed marriage.

"Miley did not want to rush into anything. She and Kaitlynn have been close friends for a long time and things got romantic. Miley was ready to call it off because she wasn't ready for a relationship. She needs to be by herself. Miley feels like she got in over her head by moving on so quickly with Kaitlynn Carter after her split from Liam," a source told E! News.
Miley escaped to Utah with her mother Tish Cyrus and sister Brandi Cyrus to clear her head and regroup. "They got to relax and enjoy some down time out in nature with nobody around ... Miley is hanging out with her family and staying close to them right now. She's trying to disconnect from everything that's been going on. She's ready to focus on herself and not have to worry about anyone else," the source added.
Meanwhile, Miley's estranged husband has been spending time with his brother Chris Hemsworth and sister-in-law Elsa Pataky in his native Australia as he works on getting over their breakup.
