Nicole ‘Snooki’ Polizzi Reveals She’s Retiring From ‘Jersey Shore’ For Her Kids

Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi just announced she’s retiring from Jersey Shore! The original cast member opened up about her choice to leave on the December 6 episode of her podcast It’s Happening With Snooki and Joey. The mom-of-three said her biggest reason for retiring is to spend more time with her children.

“I’m thankful for Jersey Shore and my fans,” Snooki, 32, began on her podcast. “I love you so much and don't hate me for my decision, but I have to do what's best for me at the moment, and I am retiring from Jersey Shore.”

She explained, “I just can’t do it anymore. Literally, leaving my kids to film it is really hard on me. I try and quit every single day. I just hate being away from the kids. I don’t like partying three days in a row. It’s just not my life anymore. I want to be home with the kids.” Snooki is a mom to Lorenzo, 7, Giovanna, 5, and Angelo, 6 months.

The Jersey Shore star has been criticized this season for siding with Jenni “JWoww” Farley in her feud with Angelina Pivarnick. “I'm putting myself out there and I just want to come off as a good person and lately, on the show, it's just been very dramatic,” Snooki said.

Angelina was accused of kissing JWoww’s boyfriend Zack Clayton Carpinello during a night out in Las Vegas. Snooki, wasn’t there for the night in question, but she took JWoww’s side. Angelina accused her of automatically taking JWoww’s side in any fight and Snooki walked out on the October 24 episode. “I pulled the going home card every season because I wanna be with my kids. I do it every season. Ask MTV. It’s a thing,” Snooki told fans on Twitter after the episode.

“Our show, Jersey Shore, is about family and making fun of each other and having a good time and laughing and just knowing that it’s all in good fun. Lately, everything is so serious,” she added. “Fans are against one another when it comes to a cast member. I don’t want that. I’m not leaving my kids for days on end to film this show when that’s the result of it. I don’t like the turnout of it. I don’t like the person I’m portrayed as.”

She continued, “All I have to say is, editing on a reality show is a b***h. I will speak the truth one day with a full, tell-all documentary. Until then, enjoy your Pinot and drama!”

Snooki revealed on her podcast that she’s been getting death threats, threats directed towards her children and negative reviews about her boutique from fans who don’t like her. “The show is getting so dramatic. I can’t be part of something like that, especially when I’m leaving my kids and I’m hurting. I just need to do what’s best for me right now,” she concluded.

Jersey Shore just celebrated the 10-year anniversary of the series.
