Orlando Bloom is going to voice Prince Harry in a new satirical comedy The Prince! Family Guy producer Gary Janetti wrote the series for HBO Max months before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to step down as senior members of the royal family.
Gary created the series based on his popular Instagram account where he pokes fun at stories about the royal family through the lens of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s eldest son Prince George.
Deadline revealed on January 21 that Orlando will voice Prince Harry, 35, Condola Rashad will voice Meghan, 38, Iwan Rheon will voice Prince William, 37, Lucy Punch will voice Kate 38, Frances De La Tour will voice Queen Elizabeth, Tom Hollander will voice both Prince Philip and Prince Charles and Gary will voice Prince George, 6.
The Prince will focus on Prince George’s perspective as he gossips about his royal family.
“We’re so excited to bring the world Gary’s created on Instagram over to HBO Max, where our viewers can discover what his Instagram fans already know – that George can be hilarious, shocking, and surprisingly sweet,” Sarah Aubrey, head of original content at HBO Max told Deadline. “We can’t wait to see what Gary does with a bigger canvas to paint on than just a 1:1 square.”

The series was reportedly created before Prince Harry and Meghan announced on January 8 that they are taking a step back from the monarchy. Gary has satirized that topic on his social media and it will likely be folded into The Prince.
Many fans of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex speculated the reasoning behind them stepping down was Meghan. Prince Harry shot the rumor down in a speech at an event for the Sentebale charity on January 19. “The decision that I have made for my wife and I to step back, is not one I made lightly. It was so many months of talks after so many years of challenges,” he began.
Prince Harry continued, “And I know I haven’t always gotten it right, but as far as this goes, there really was no other option. What I want to make clear is we’re not walking away, and we certainly aren’t walking away from you.”
