Although it’s almost impossible for Prince George and Princess Charlotte to have a normal childhood, Prince William and Kate Middleton are determined to break royal protocol to ensure that their children don’t grow up spoiled.
“The nursery is looking more like a high-end department store than a place for kids to play,” a source told OK! magazine. “William and Kate are grateful for all the support, but they don’t want their children thinking this is normal.”

But raising their children to be down-to-earth isn’t an easy task, especially when their oldest is the future King of England! “People treat George like a little god, constantly trying to hand him cards and toys,” the insider said of the tot, who received 774 gifts in 2014. “Both he and Charlotte will need to learn to deal with it as graciously as their parents do.”
The royals are even looking back on how Princess Diana raised William and Prince Harry for parenting tips. “She was always shunning traditions so they could just ‘be kids,’ and that’s what William wants,” the source said. “It’s difficult enough growing up in the spotlight without being branded as bratty.”
