Queen Elizabeth is making sure her Windsor Castle grounds are in perfect shape for when her grandson Prince Harry marries Meghan Markle there next spring! The longtime monarch was spotted horseback riding through Home Park, the private 655-acre park located near the castle. Harry and Meghan recently announced plans to wed in St. George’s Chapel on the royal estate, and the Queen even gave them her blessing to use the ancient royal home for the wedding festivities. The Queen was spotted as she went horseback riding through the private royal grounds, where she was accompanied by her Head Groom, Terry Pendry.
Prince Harry’s grandmother has always had an affinity for horses. She reportedly had her first lesson at just three years old, and her thoroughbreds have won more than 1,600 races, The Sun reported.
As for her grandson’s engagement, the Queen and her husband, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, said in a statement that they are “delighted” for Prince Harry and Meghan and “wish them every happiness.” The couple announced their engagement last week after a year and a half of dating.

Harry and Meghan plan to wed at Windsor Castle in May 2018. According to a royal family spokesman, the castle “is a very special place” to the couple, who “regularly spent time there over the last year and a half.”
The Queen also “granted permission” to the couple to use the castle as their wedding venue and is even going to pay for “core aspects” of the wedding! This includes the church service, music, flowers, decorations, and reception afterwards.
