Garcelle Beauvais is a grandma! The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star's oldest son Oliver has welcomed a baby boy named Oliver-Lucas Groves Saunders Jr.
Garcelle, 53, shared the joyous news on Instagram alongside a snapshot of the newest member of her family. She wrote, "Introducing my grandson Oliver Junior. It's Oliver’s birthday but I received an amazing gift. Family time. Young Grandma. Oliver is so full of love. What should my grandma name be???" In the adorable snapshot, the Bravo celebrity hugged Oliver, 29, as he cradled his baby boy in his hands. Garcelle also took to Twitter to joke that her "grandma name" should be "GG (Grandma Garcelle)."
Several of the NYPD Blue star's RHOBH costars sent well wishes and congratulatory messages to the new grandma. "Congratulations! And welcome to the world Oliver!" Dorit Kemsley commented along with a heart emoji and the hashtag, "#mightyfinelooking’glamma." Her husband Paul Kemsley added, "Congrats Garcelle. Wonderful news .... you're the most glam grandma I know." Kyle Richards scribed, "Congrats!!!! Exciting!!" while Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes simply commented, "Congrats."
The Real Housewives of Orange County alum Gretchen Rossi chimed in, “Ahhh congrats.”
Garcelle is also a mom to 12-year-old twin sons Jax and Jaid, who she shares with her second husband, Mike Nilon. She was married to producer Daniel Saunders from 1991 until 2000. The Haitian-American actress divorced Mike in 2011 after reports of his infidelity surfaced.
The Jamie Foxx Show star recently split from boyfriend Michael Elliot just months after they went public with their romance. She announced she was single on February 10 in a social media post. "Plot twist ... I'm single," Garcelle's post read.
Garcelle made her relationship with Michael Instagram official in December 2019. She even gushed over him at the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards bash on February 6. "Oh, my God, he’s been so great. The fact that he even agreed to be on the show … we’ll see him a little bit. It’s been really, really cool and really fun," she told Us Weekly at the time.
Garcelle joined RHOBH for its upcoming 10th season and made history when she became the first African-American cast member. Telling E! News earlier this month about her casting, Garcelle said, "It's about time! I mean, we're in every zip code, are we not? So, hello!"
"I've always watched the show, but to be in it and see all the crazy all around me?" she said. "So fun. So fun."
