Rob Kardashian has had a tough past year, ditching the spotlight amid reports that he is struggling with both depression and substance abuse. But following the murder of his rapper friend Chinx in New York City, a source tells RadarOnline.com that the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star is now seriously considering getting professional help to overcome his issues.
“It really was a huge wakeup call to both him and Khloe,” the insider said. “Rob was very close friends with Chinx.”
The source added that Rob “has been trying really hard lately to get his life back together. Harder than he has in a very long time,” but his good friend’s death has left him more open to the idea of getting treatment.
“Everyone in his family has been begging him to go and get help for quite some time,” the source said. “They also realize that they have neglected Rob and it is something they are all really trying to change.”

A source told RadarOnline.com that Rob and his sister Khloe Kardashian were on lockdown following the shooting that took Chinx’s life. The rapper was a close friend of Khloe’s sometimes boyfriend French Montana, and she and members of her team had previously been photographed traveling with Chinx and Montana.
Rob has been battling numerous trials in his life, including a very public weight struggle. And according to reports, the reality star has not been open to the idea of getting professional help.
But the insider said that following Chinx’s death, Rob is more serious than ever about possibly seeking treatment. “Thankfully, this is something that Rob is considering now, which is huge,” the source said. “He doesn’t want to die like Chinx did and we are all hoping that this will be the catalyst to force him into treatment.” Do you think Rob need to get professional help for his reported struggles?
