Before making their friendship permanent with matching tattoos, Selena Gomez and her best friend Julia Michaels shared a special a moment. In a photo uploaded to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, November 12, the “Good For You” singer, 27, locked lips with her 26-year-old bestie.
In the photo, Selena rested her hand on Julia’s waist. Julia held Selena’s head as the two shared a moment of PDA. Following the kiss, Selena and Julia stopped by The Black Lantern studio and got matching arrow tattoos on their hands. "It's tatted ... my arrow points to you forever," the “Lose You To Love Me” singer captioned the photo.
Although Julia’s birthday is today, November 12, Selena kicked off the celebration a few days early. In a series of photos, Selena and Julia celebrated with a birthday cake. “My love, my heart and my soul @juliamichaels,” the former Disney Channel star wrote to Instagram.
As the year comes to a close, Selena is focused on keeping positive energy and friends around her. While speaking on her friend Raquelle Stevens’ podcast, Giving Back Generation, Selena admitted that she was body-shamed for gaining weight after her lupus diagnosis.

"I experienced body-shaming with my weight fluctuation for the first time," Selena recalled. "I have lupus and deal with kidney issues and high blood pressure, so I deal with a lot of health issues, and for me that’s when I really started noticing more of the body image stuff."
She continued, "It’s the medication I have to take for the rest of my life—it depends on even the month, to be honest. So for me, I really noticed when people started attacking me for that. In reality, that’s just my truth. I fluctuate. It depends what’s happening in my life," she said.
Despite the past negativity, Selena shared that she is in a good place at the moment. Last month, she released two new singles entitled “Lose You To Love Me” and “Love At Her Now.” On both singles, Julia is credited as a writer.
