“I don’t want to comment but there are just some things I’m trying to handle privately,” Ashley said as tears streamed down her face. “Before I say too much, I love Thomas and I’ll always love Thomas. I’ll always care about him.”
“I’m still trying to work it out, not work out getting back together, but I’m still trying to figure it out,” she continued. “I think everyone’s been through breakups before but it’s hard. It’s not easy…Sometimes you just want to stay quiet and figure out what the next move in your life is going to be…I’m just trying to take care of myself the best way that I can.”
“You guys know some eligible bachelors, hook me up. They don’t have to have money. I’m okay with that. I just want someone to love me for me. It’s never been about money. Like I said, I work hard. I wouldn’t quit my job. I drive me cute little Honda. I’m okay,” she finished.
Fans speculated Ashley and Thomas were over after she deleted all photos of him from her Instagram, but posted a selfie with a long, cryptic message talking about “failures” and new beginnings. Plus, last week, podcast host Kate Casey claimed Ashley had told her their relationship was over.
Ashley and Thomas’ split comes one day after Thomas announced on Twitter that he was quitting Southern Charm. The disgraced South Carolina politician has been accused of sexually assaulting two separate women, but Thomas accused Bravo of “fictionalizing” his story.
Ashley made more friends than enemies on this past season of Southern Charm, where she feuded with Thomas’ ex and baby mama Kathryn Dennis. But on the show’s reunion — which Thomas did not attend — the cast put aside their differences with Ashley and encouraged her to end things with Thomas.
