Spencer Pratt Jokes Frenemy Brody Jenner Was Taken 'Hostage' By Ex Kaitlynn Carter

Spencer Pratt and Brody Jenner may not be the best of friends anymore, but that didn't stop The Hills: New Beginnings star from putting in his two cents on Brody's recent breakup with ex Kaitlynn Carter. Spencer spoke of the split on his and his wife,  Heidi Pratt's, podcast, Make Speidi Famous Again.

Brody, 35, and Kaitlynn, 30, announced their decision to split on August 2 after almost six years together.

The pair was married in a small ceremony in Bali in June 2018. However, they never filed for an official marriage license in the U.S.

Spencer, 35, said on his radio show that he's "not surprised" the couple broke up.

"I think season two, we're going to get to see real Brody and the show is going to be freaking incredible. I think he's going to have way more fun. He's way less intense. I feel like he has a lot going on, so I just hope we get to see relaxed Brody, having fun, barbecue, for real Brody," the crystal connoisseur said.

The father of one quipped, "So, that I look forward to. I think there will be a lot of success in Brody. I feel like I said it, that he almost was like a hostage, it felt like he was trying to tell me, 'Get me out, get me out.'"

"I don't know. My crystal ball says that's not happening," Spencer added.

But Heidi, 32, chimed in and didn't agree with her husband's comments. "I didn't really see that coming, though. I just kind of thought they had, like, extreme ups and downs. I didn't know it would end like that. But who knows, maybe in the future they'll get back together," she hoped.
