Loni Love is working through her grief. During the April 15 episode of The Real, the co-host broke down in tears while discussing the late rapper Nipsey Hussle, his legacy, and her missed opportunity to meet with him before his untimely death.
“If you’ve followed me on Instagram for the past couple of weeks, I was posting about Nipsey and how he’s more than just a rapper,” Loni, 47, said during the Girl Chat segment. “He did so much and you don’t miss somebody until they are gone.”
“This is why you give people their flowers while they’re alive,” she continued.
She then described how Nipsey's Marathon store and company affected positive change within his community. “He invested in a program called Vector90 which was for inner city youth to have places to come and study STEM.”

The former engineer then revealed that she had planning to meet the Los Angeles native just days before he was gunned down in front of his store on March 31. After attending an event that featured item from the Marathon brand, Loni made plans to head down to Crenshaw and see him in person.
“I missed it,” she said through tears. “I was two weeks shy and I was going down there to meet him and it didn’t happen. Like his girlfriend Lauren London says and Nipsey’s mother and his family say ‘The Marathon will continue.’”
