Julie Chen has been officially replaced on The Talk, but there are no hard feelings. New co-host Carrie Ann Inaba said her predecessor wished her nothing but the best.
“Julie has been nothing but supportive,” Carrie told People. “When she learned that I got the job, she sent me the most beautiful floral arrangement. She’s like, ‘I’m always in your corner.’ Woman to woman, that’s amazing.”
Julie was a host on the talk show since 2010, but she stepped down from her position following sexual assault allegations made against her husband and former CBS CEO Les Moonves.
The mother of one announced her departure in a video posted on her social media accounts. “Right now I need to spend more time at home with my husband and our young son,” she said at the time. “So I’ve decided to leave The Talk.”

“I know this show and the sisterhood it stands for will live on for many, many years to come,” she added.
Carrie, whose new role was announced on Jan. 2, admitted that she was moved by Julie’s clip. “I was blown away by that video,” she said. “That doesn’t happen often in this business when someone is so gracious in such a challenging time for herself. I have nothing but love for Julie and I feel so lucky we were able to form this friendship.”
