Lisa Vanderpump doubled down on James Kennedy and called him out in front of his Vanderpump Rules castmates for drinking. In a preview for the February 11 episode, the SUR owner critiqued to DJ after she gave him a chance to perform at TomTom.
James, 28, worked as a deejay one day at TomTom, despite his firing from SUR. After his set, Lisa, 59, asked, “You doing alright?” He responded, “Yes. Definitely. I really think so. Yeah.”
“You’re still drinking though,” she quipped at James while Katie Maloney and Ariana Madix were sitting at the same table.
The DJ shot back, “No I haven’t been drinking today. I did a really good job though today.”
“I know but it’s about longevity. Isn’t it James?” Lisa responded.
In a confessional James said, “I just killed it. This wasn’t the conversation I wanted to have with Lisa after my set.”

Lisa softened her tone and told her former employee, “Listen. I’m glad you did a good job today but I’m not interested in you doing one job. I’m interested in your welfare.”
The former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star has been very critical of James for his drinking habit. On a December 2018 episode of VPR, she fired the DJ from SUR because of his inappropriate comments towards his female coworkers when he was drunk.
“There’s a darkness inside me that comes out. Seriously, I’m never touching alcohol again,” he told Lisa. “Please, this is the only thing I've got. I'm sober now – I'm a nice person when I'm sober.”
Lisa tearfully told the deejay, “You have to change in your life, and this is going to be a life-changing moment for you, I hope.”
At the season 7 reunion special in May 2019, Andy Cohen grilled James about his drinking. “Lisa, a lot of people including you have told James that he needs to stop drinking altogether,” the host said.
“A thousand percent,” Lisa agreed before saying, “It’s his own worst enemy."
