Wendy Williams addressed her appearance with NeNe Leakes in The Real Housewives of Atlanta mid-season trailer on her talk show on January 17. The daytime host dished advice to the RHOA star after she got into a heated fight with her nemesis Kenya Moore.
“I knew this was going to happen, but I just kind of forgot about it because me and NeNe talk all the time. But there is a new guest appearance. Me,” Wendy told her audience after the RHOA mid-season trailer dropped on January 16.
Wendy explained, “I am on the phone with NeNe and it that I was being recorded because she wanted me to come actually on the set. When she called me, she was actually in New York. She was like we will come to you or you come to the hotel or something like that. I was like no, I have a purple chair. No thank you.”
The talk show host agreed to have a conversation with the RHOA star over the phone rather than on camera. “You have to sign off on that, it’s a legal thing,” Wendy added. “I'm like let me just call my manager Bernie Young first that we can talk about this behind the scenes, check with my real job. So they were like fine.”
“I chose my words carefully and there weren't many,” the talk show host said before showing a clip from the RHOA mid-season trailer.

In the clip, NeNe told the talk show host, “Somebody pushes me, Wendy, I’m gonna say some s**t.” Wendy simply responded, “Give these girls friendship and love.”
“I meant that, because grown women, we always have something going on in the back story of our lives,” Wendy told her audience. “This whole fighting, I told Nene I was mad at her.”
In the trailer, NeNe is filmed attempting to spit on Kenya after the former beauty queen confronted her about the “snake” who recorded Cynthia Bailey badmouthing NeNe. The former GLEE star took to Twitter on January 17 and claimed she didn’t actually spit on Kenya, but she wished she did.
“She need 2 be spit on wit all the horrible things she has said & done! From constantly startin s**t wit me all season, lying on me, sayin I’m on drugs & bipolar. Plus that recent tweet she posted so enjoy the moment!” NeNe wrote. “I DID the act but DIDN'T SPIT! I wish I had tho! No regrets.”
