Jill Duggar has never been one to shy away from using canned goods in her recipes. Fans have often slammed the former Counting On star for using the high-sodium items, but she has yet to change her ways — and one fan may have finally cracked the code behind Jill’s love of canned goods as a star ingredient!

As Duggar fans know, Jill is notorious for using canned items in almost every recipe on her blog, from Slow Cooker Lasagna to Cheesy Chicken & Rice Enchiladas.

Last month, followers blasted Jill’s spaghetti sauce recipe as “unacceptable” because it was made using four cans of soup, including cream of chicken and cream of mushroom. “Jill, you have to wake up, and learn to cook for real, not just throwing cans of stuff together,” a fan slammed.

When Jill posted her most recent recipe for Slow Cooker Lasagna, which contained canned mushrooms, one fan guessed Jill’s love of canned goods may have something to do with where Jill does her shopping. “I just figured out the canned goods fetish. She gets her groceries from mama’s store room at the big house to save money!” the fan theorized.

Jill’s mom Michelle keeps a huge well-stocked pantry of supplies — made up of mostly canned goods — to feed her larger than life family, and the fan guessed Jill drops in to pick up her groceries to save money!

Jill is doing everything she can to save money these days, including wearing her sister’s hand-me-downs, since her husband Derick Dillard is in law school and the family doesn’t have a steady income after being kicked off Counting On.
