Just last month, Yolanda Hadid was gushing over Gigi's then-boyfriend, Zayn Malik, saying "he's like a son to me." But now with news breaking that the couple had suddenly called it quits after over two years of dating, Yolanda is changing her tune, and shared a cryptic message on social media after the revelation.
The former model posted this message, "The only way that we can live, is if we grow. The only way that we can grow is if we change. The only way that we can change is if we learn. The only way we can learn is if we are exposed. And the only way that we can be exposed is if we throw ourselves out into the open." She captioned the post, "And so it is.....#Life."
After rumors of a breakup, Zayn confirmed the news, sharing in a note, "Gigi and I had an incredibly meaningful, loving and fun relationship and I have a huge amount of respect and adoration for Gigi as a woman and a friend. She has such an incredible soul."
He continued, "I'm grateful to all of our fans for respecting this difficult decision and our privacy at this time. We wish this news would have come from us first. We love you all."

And while he may have been like family to the Hadid's while with Gigi, as soon as they split, he unfollowed Yolanda as well as his former flame!
Gigi released her own statement, and said, "Breakup statements often seem impersonal because there is really no way to put into words what two people experience together over a few years..not only in a relationship but in life in general."
The supermodel added, "I'm forever grateful for the love, time and life lessons Z and I shared. I want nothing but the best for him and will continue to support him as a friend that I have immense respect and love for. As for the future, whatever's meant to be will always be. x G."
