Scoring a coveted appointment with Demi Lovato's esthetician Renée Rouleau is a bit tricky. Luckily, following her top five skincare rules for a glowing complexion is not.
The Perfect Red Dress to Wear to Every Holiday Party
1. Schedule a Professional Facial Treatment
There are many benefits to a professional skin treatment, which include analysis, deep cleansing, exfoliation, a finishing mask, proper skin education, and skincare tips. If you don’t have time for regular facials, try the Renée Rouleau Triple Berry Smoothing Peel. This at-home peel uses five exfoliating acids to smooth the skin, unclog pores, and reveal a flawless face.
2. Don’t Over Dry the Skin
Be sure to purchase cleansers that are labeled ‘sulfate-free’ and avoid the ingredients Sodium Laureth (or Lauryl), Sulfate, and Ammonium Laureth Sulfate. These ingredients can be extremely dehydrating to the skin. Also, apply an alcohol-free toner, serum and moisturizer within 60 seconds of cleansing, as this will keep the skin hydrated and moist.

3. Avoid Picking at Blemishes
A blemish lasts 5-7 days, but a red or dark scar from picking the blemish can linger for weeks or even months. Prevent blemishes with the Renée Rouleau BHA Clarifying Serum, which Demi loves. She's said, “This serum is a miracle product. I’ll wake up the next morning and literally have no pores.”
4. Protect with SPF
Wearing a minimum of SPF 30 365 days a year is very important to prevent dull, aged skin. Look for a lightweight formula that will not clog pores and if you’re prone to sensitivity or breakouts, choose a sunscreen formula with Zinc Oxide.
5. Stick With a Routine That Works
Once you find a skincare routine that works for you, stick with it. If you love the products you use, you will be more likely to stick with the regimen.
