Confessions Of A Middle-Aged Beauty Queen, 'They'll Know I'm Real—Even If I Have Fake Boobs And Fake Teeth'
The pageant world takes its toll on many a young beauty—and even more so on ladies of a certain age!
TLC debuts their new show Crown Chasers on July 10 and the struggle many women go through in their bid to win a beauty queen title is only too evident—as seen in a preview clip that you can watch right here on OKMagazine.com.
Case in point, Jocelyn, who claims her menopausal hormones are responsible for her outbursts and wide array of emotions.
Poor Jocelyn can hardly keep her emotions in check as she prepares for an upcoming pageant—explaining her lack of self confidence and struggles with body image means she has to prepare herself to compete by sitting in front of a mirror and repeating positive affirmations.
"I'm feeling and thinking that I am the best I've ever been," a tearful Jocelyn says as she sits cross legged in her pajamas in front of a full length mirror.
"I am stronger, I am smarter, I am wiser, and I want my kids to know that their mom is a winner—and if I cry, they'll just know I'm real…. even though I have fake boobs and fake teeth."
According to a TLC press release:
"Crown Chasers unveils the cutthroat world of Mrs. Pageants through the eyes of Victoria, Deborah, Jocelyn, Jennifer, and Jonella—five women, ages 30-52, who live in the greater Denver area.
"These women balance families, marriages and careers while always prepared to compete in the next big pageant. On the stage, the ladies aim to carry themselves with grace, poise, and beauty – but what goes on off stage, is an entirely different story.
"In the fierce politics of 'frenemies' where today’s competition is tomorrow’s judge, the women are always on alert.
"Since their pageant world is incredibly tight knit, the women must be on their best behavior at all times – or at least they should be.
"With everything going on in each of their lives, whether they’re crash-training to fit into swimsuits or psyching out the competition, it’s clear – absolutely anything goes in the pursuit of the almighty crown."
Tune into TLC on Wednesday July 10 at 10PM ET/PT to catch the premiere episode of Crown Chasers.
