Giuliana Rancic Is Returning To E! News: ‘I Can’t Wait To Reconnect’

Giuliana Rancic is coming home! Three years after the long time E! News host left the show, Giuliana has announced she is returning to co-host the daily half-hour news program alongside co-host Jason Kennedy.

“Returning to host E! News is every bit as thrilling to me today as it was 16 years ago when I joined the show and embarked on this wonderful career,” Giuliana said in a statement. “Co-hosting alongside one of my best friends, Jason Kennedy, with one of the most talented teams in entertainment journalism, makes this move even more special. I can’t wait to reconnect with the E! News audience and go on this journey together once again.”

While Giuliana has continued to provide special coverage for E!, she departed the half-hour news program in 2015 after an up and down year. The reporter was blasted for joking that Zendaya’s dreadlocks at the Oscars that year probably smelled of “patchouli oil and weed.” Zendaya called the comments “ignorant slurs.”

There were also reports that Giuliana was feuding with E! correspondent Maria Menounos at the time, which she denied, calling the rumors “absurd.”

Maria took over for Giuliana but left the show in 2017 amid health concerns. In June of that year, she underwent a seven-hour surgery to remove a brain tumor.

Co-host Jason later worked with Catt Sadler, who quit the show abruptly late last year, citing unequal pay between her and Jason as the reason.

Giuliana and Jason's first E! News episode together will air Sept. 4.
