Set your table, make some scones, buy a few bouquets of hydrangeas, and maybe call T-Swift and Cara Delevingne—someone needs to throw a garden party. I’ll be the one following Brie Larson’s lead and wearing a printed sleeveless ESCADA dress. The Community actress stepped out on The Lego Movie‘s LA premiere wearing this ladylike silhouette with a perfectly deconstructed updo and black Mary Jane-style heels.
It’s like a this dress was made to solve all the formal spring dressing problems that ever existed, although I wouldn’t suggest wearing off-white to your sorority sister’s wedding. I’m in love with the vertical striped sheer overlay, how the collar is lined, and the gathering details at the waist—these are the little things that make the dress.
With its feminine, conservative, and ladylike features, it’s a more than appropriate choice for a kids’ movie premiere. But Brie wasn’t the only one with style smarts at the LA-based event. Colbie Smulders stunned in a pair of white tailored pants and a striped oxford, while Elizabeth Banks rocked a jumpsuit with a strapless polka dot bodice.
