Angelina Jolie Heads to Haiti to Help Earthquake Victims

Goodwill ambassador Angelina Jolie is heading to Haiti to meet with and aid relief efforts for earthquake victims in the devastated country. Angelina is the ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. The UNHCR spokesman Andrej Mahecic said Angelina would travel to Haiti later today, the Associated Press reports.
Angelina spoke with hospitalized Haitian survivors in the Dominican Republic yesterday, according to the AP.

Dario Manon, a spokesman for the Dario Contrera Hospital, told the reporters, "She spoke with several children and a Haitian woman who recognized her and requested help."
Angelina has previously visited Iraq, Thailand, Pakistan and other countries with UNHCR for humanitarian efforts.
