Casey Anthony will be able to enjoy the rest of her summer as a free woman. Court officials just announced that Casey’s “calculated release date” from jail is next week.
This morning, Casey was sentenced to a maximum four years in prison and $4,000 in fines after being convicted Tuesday on four counts of providing false information to law enforcement officials, but Judge Belvin Perry said Casey would get credit for time she already served in prison (over two years) and also for good behavior, and called a recess to figure out what that time would be.
Now, Radar Online reports that court officials just announced that Casey’s “calculated release date from jail is July 13” — next Wednesday.
On Tuesday afternoon the nation was left shocked when Casey was found not guilty of first-degree murder of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee Marie Anthony, by the 12-person jury — consisting of seven women and five men. She was also found not guilty of aggravated child abuse and not guilty of aggravated manslaughter.
The jury’s decision was read aloud from inside the Orlando, Fla., courthouse after 33 days of dramatic testimony and almost two days of emotional closing arguments.
Casey’s innocence means she has escaped the death penalty.
