We couldn't wait to watch Chad Michael Murray reprise his role as Lucas Scott on One Tree Hill last night, but sadly, we were a little disappointed!

Although it was wonderful that Chad even made the decision to come back "for the fans," we sort of wish he stuck around Tree Hill for a little while longer. Come on, it's the show's final season — milk it!

Lucas was such a huge component of OTH and when he and Peyton (Hilarie Burton) moved away to start fresh with baby Sawyer, fans were heartbroken. So when news broke that he was heading back, we assumed that we'd see our beloved Luke playing basketball at the River Court, checking out the new Karen's Cafe, meeting Brooke's (Sophia Bush) new twins and starting some sort of drama with daddy Dan (Paul Johansson), who just so happens to be back in town as well. (The two could have totally put their differences aside to help find the one they love most, Nathan).

But alas, none of these marvelous moments happened. All we saw was Lucas meet up with Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) in the airport, chat for awhile and then take Jamie (Jackson Brundage) and Lydia back home with him where he and Peyton will watch after them as Haley tries to find missing Nathan (James Lafferty).

It was hard enough finding out that Peyton would never be returning to Tree Hill — she didn't even show up to Brooke's wedding, what kind of best friend is that? — but when we realized that we'd only be getting Lucas back for a short while, it made OTH's final season that much more depressing.

What did you think of Chad's return? Was it all you ever dreamed of?
