CNBC Announces Anchor Mark Haines Has Died at Age 65

CNBC anchor Carl Quintanilla read a statement on-air this morning from Mark Hoffman, the network’s president, announcing CNBC anchor Mark Haines has passed away. He was 65.

Mark died at his home Tuesday evening, CNBC announced in a statement.

“With his searing wit, profound insight and piercing interview style, he was a constant and trusted presence in business news for more than 20 years,” Hoffman said in the statement. “From the dotcom bubble to the tragic events of 9/11 to the depths of the financial crisis, Mark was always the unflappable pro.”

He had been working with CNBC since 1989 and leaves behind a wife and two children.

“Mark loved CNBC and we loved him back,” Hoffman wrote. “He will be deeply missed.”
