It's not every day that Garth Brooks is in the news so when he is, rest assured it's for something big! The country crooner won a lawsuit against an Oklahoma hospital which misused his $500,000 donation.
Garth's legal team argued that the Integris Canadian Valley Regional Hospital in Yukon lured him to making a hefty donation as the result of naming a building after his late mother. The only glitch? The project never got off the ground.
As reported by GossipCop, the hospital indicated both parties hadn't agreed on what the money was going to be used for exactly. As such, the plan was to distribute the funds as needed. Fortunately for Garth, jurors were on his side and granted him back the moolah – all $500,000 of it! Not only that, he was awarded $500,000 in punitive damages.
