Marc Jacobs is reportedly in talks to take over for John Galliano as creative director at Christian Dior.
After John was removed from his position when reports alleged he made anti-Semitic remarks surfaced, Dior has been looking for a new creative director.
According to WWD sources (via New York Post), Marc is at the top of the list for the job in front of Lanvin’s Alber Elbaz, Balenciaga’s Nicolas Ghesquière, Alexander McQueen’s Sarah Burton, Haider Ackermann and Hedi Slimane.
Marc’s legal team is reportedly in Paris now trying to reach an agreement with Dior. Marc himself is in New York working on his spring 2012 collection, of course, as fashion week in NYC is in September.
But the designer is reportedly “excited” about the potential new deal with Dior.
