When it comes to styling my hair, my skill level is poor at best, so I’m always on the hunt for products that are going to make achieving a salon-style blowout a little easier. Of course nothing beats the bounce and shine of having my locks styled professionally, but these hand helpers help me channel my inner hairdresser.
• drybar Hot Toddy Heat Protector and Frizz Fighter is fabulous for shielding my locks from all of the baddies I take to them each day—like my blow dryer, flat iron and curling iron. I live for in-shop blowouts from drybar so I was psyched to see the chain release their products in the retail market.
• Sometimes I want to add a kick of curl to my hair and the amika Triple Barrel Pro Curler Set comes equipped with three interchangeable barrels to create different sized spirals to go with my mood. My bumbling hands can avoid tangled strands because this curling iron is clip-free. I just use amika’s heat-safe glove to help me hold hair in place.
• I never go out of town without my Sultra The Temptress Power Dryer, which has three temperature settings to suit a variety of hair types and two nozzle attachments to aid in styling.
• I feel like I’ve never had a bad hair day when I’ve added a few drops of Moroccanoil Treatment to damp tresses before blow drying. It really smoothes out the hair shaft and leaves my mane shiny and healthy-looking. And the vacation-like scent can’t be beat!
