The question everyone is asking right now is what will Kate Middleton wear for her royal wedding to Prince William this Friday? Experts examine Kate’s style and compare it to her late mother-in-law, Princess Diana, to try to predict the wedding gown!
Kate and Diana share a similar sense of style and even share the same height at 5’1o”! So will Kate’s wedding gown be as iconic as Diana’s?
Today‘s Meredith Vieira spoke with Avril Graham, the executive beauty and fashion editor of Harper’s Bazaar, about the rumors surrounding Kate’s dress.
Daniella Helayel Issa has reportedly been invited to the wedding and she designed the blue dress Kate wore for her engagement announcement.
“Is that an indication that she designed the dress?” Meredith asked.
“I think that would be giving the game away too much. We already know that Kate loves wearing Issa,” Avril said. “Do I think she’ll design the wedding dress for the majestic Westminster Abbey where you are really sort of fighting with the architecture as well? I’m not so sure. The jury’s out on that one. It has to be a spectacle and she has to sail down that aisle.”
Kate will wear three dresses on the big day — one for the wedding, one for the reception and one for dinner.
But getting the gown right is “hugely important.”
“This is not just a country wedding and it’s not just Kate’s wedding,” Avril explained. “This is the wedding of a future queen.”
So which designers are in the running now? And will the gown resemble Diana’s?
