Hell hath no fury like a Rihanna scorned.

The British newspaper Daily Mail ran an editorial yesterday with the headline, “Pop’s poisonous princess: Glorying in drugs, guns and sleaze, Rihanna’s toxic role model for her army of young fans.” (They like really long headlines in the UK, what can I say?). The writer, Liz Jones, decries most of the typical Rihanna stuff—the drugs, the lyrics, the Chris Brown.

She also writes, “…[T]hat she promotes drug-taking, drinking and the sort of fashion sense on stage that surely invites rape at worst, disrespect at least.” Wow.

Rihanna reacted by posting a photo of the writer on her Instagram account this morning, with a super-long caption: “If you sincerely wanna help little girls more than their own parents do, here’s a toxic tip: don’t be amateur with your articles, you sound bitter!” She continues, “That sh*t ain’t clever!!! That sh*t ain’t journalism! That’s a sad sloppy menopausal mess!!!”

She concludes the rant by making the article her own, “Toxic was cute, Poisonous Pop Princess had a nice ring to it, just a lil wordy.” Where them bloggers at, where them bloggers at?

Do you think Rihanna had a right to react like this? Or do you agree with the Daily Mail writer? Do you think Rihanna should be a role model? Tell us in the comments below or tweet us @OKMagazine.
