The show revolves around a family of women who, unbeknownst to the two daughters, are witches. Rachel plays quiet librarian Ingrid Beauchamp, whose life is turned upside down when she learns her family’s secret.

“It was amazing how quickly we started to feel like a real family,” she says of her costars. “I love working with Julia Ormond, Jenna Dewan Tatum  and  Madchen Amick, which makes going to work every day even more fun. Each person has a very unique voice on the show and to come together to tell this story about magic has been absolutely wonderful.”

Even though magic plays a huge part in the series, Rachel says the relationship between the women is a grounding force.

“The Beauchamp family represents hope, love, and support,” she explains. “So through all the magical journeys and explorations of witchcraft, at the end of the day we return to the heart.”

To keep you cozy as we head into autumn, Rachel shares a delish-sounding recipe straight from her Grandma in Nashville, Tenn. We’ll take Granny’s Banana Pudding over Witch’s Brew any day!

Granny’s Banana Pudding

1 cup sugar

2 tbsp flour

2 eggs, separated

1 cup water

6 TBSP butter

1 teaspoon vanilla

Nilla Wafers

4 bananas, sliced

Heat oven to 350 degrees.

Cook sugar and butter over low to medium heat – stirring constantly.  Mix together egg yolks, water, flour and vanilla.  Add to pan.  Continue stirring and cook about three more minutes.  Remove from heat.

In a 1-1/2 quart baking dish, place a layer of Nila wafers.  Then add a layer of sliced bananas and half of the mixture.  Add another layer of wafers, bananas and then the other half of the mixture.

Meringue

2 egg whites

1/4 cup sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla

Beat egg whites on high until soft peaks form.  Gradually add sugar then vanilla.

Spread on top of the mixture.

Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly brown.
